Man charged with murder in deadly southeast Columbus shooting

 The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said a man has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting that happened Friday night in southeast Columbus.

Varmunyah Dunor, 20, is charged with murder in the shooting Columbus News death of Jarrin Hickman, 28, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

At about 6:30 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of a Dollar General at 5001 Chatterton Road in Truro Township.


The sheriff's office said Hickman is accused of shooting Qunicy Yelder in the head while attempted to buy marijuana from him and Dunor. After the shooting, the sheriff's office said Dunor chased Hickman through the parking lot where he shot him multiple times and left the scene.

Hickman was taken to Mount Carmel East Medical Center Press Release Distribution Service in Columbus where he was pronounced dead.

Yelder, who was shot once in the head, is being treated at Mount Carmel East Medical Center.

The incident remains under investigation.

Dunor is being held in the Franklin County Jail.
